The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced that Michigan
Paving & Materials Co., a CRH Company, won a 2024 Quality in Construction Award for excellence in
construction of an asphalt pavement. The company is being recognized during the association’s 70th
Annual Meeting.
MPM won the award for its work on 24.58 miles of I-69 in Eaton and Calhoun
Counties, Michigan. The project included pavement reconstruction, bridge reconstruction, patching,
drainage, signage and barrier repair. The company divided the project into phases to increase safety and
stay on schedule. Despite challenges that included crews working all hours of the day and paving at
night, Michigan Paving & Materials Co. produced smooth, high-quality pavements for area motorists.
“The asphalt pavement industry is committed to building high-quality projects that deliver superior
performance to the traveling public. All contractors’ projects earning a Quality in Construction award are
measured against best practices designed to live up to that commitment,” said 2024 NAPA Chair Brady
Meldrem. “Earning the Quality in Construction Award demonstrates that Michigan Paving & Materials Co.,
a CRH Company, has met or exceeded these rigorous standards.”

of asphalt pavements and paving techniques used in the construction of roadways, parking lots, airports,
